Getting The Hot Buyer

People who purchase products and services online go through a fairly predictable process, much like offline consumers. They learn about what they’re interested in buying and they make a purchasing decision. Customers ready to purchase are “hot buyers”, and this is an excellent moment in the process to divert them to your products, service or website.

Hot buyers know things, because they’ve spent time researching. Throughout their research, they have probably focused in on one or two choices and they are ready to buy. This is a strategic time for the effective affiliate marketer. It’s time to enter the process and “catch” the buyer, using the buyer’s own knowledge and readiness to buy.

Using Product Targeted Key Words

Finding the right key words to capitalize on your customer’s readiness to buy means zeroing in on specific brands and product names. Chances are good that the buyer has arrived at a particular brand they intend to purchase. Whether you’re that brand’s affiliate partner or a competing product, you can take advantage by using the brand or product names as key words.

It may be counterintuitive to pay to use your competitor’s product name or brand as a key word. But your buyer is already cued to be looking for the name. Don’t make the mistake of neglecting these already well advertised key words. Use them to lead your buyer to compare, review or confirm their buying decision with you. You become the final step in the buying process, exactly where you want to be!

Using advertised products and brand names as key words puts the affiliate marketer in the right place at the right time. Targeted customers, ready to purchase, are directed your way. Your information is what leads them to the purchase. You’ve caught the buyer (and earned the commission).
