Why do people rob banks?
Is it because they:
(a) Like money
(b) Enjoy stealing from others
(c) Are easily influenced by movies like Oceans 11
(d) They are desperate
If you answered D, you are correct. The fact of the matter is that people that do rob banks do have morals. They are in a situation where either they feed their families or they don't.
Desperation is at the highest point we have ever seen within Wealthy Affiliate, in due part to the economic downturn. People are losing their jobs...people are losing a lot of their retirement money...and people cannot afford their health insurance (in particular people from the US).
In saying this, desperation can lead to great success if addressed in the right manner. Desperation can equate to strong "drive" if handled correctly. Too many people handle it the wrong way. The way of IRRATIONAL DECISION MAKING!
Believe it or not, both of us were in relatively desperate situations when we started online marketing. No we didn't lose our job and no our houses were not being foreclosed, however we were broke. By that I mean less than $100 in our bank accounts.
Kyle had to borrow a credit card to get started online with a promise to pay them back.
Carson started out spending less than $5/day online as he could not afford to rack up his credit card because of his high tuition at school.
We were desperate. We did need money. And looking back we did handle it correctly.
So what did we do different? What didn't we have to pull out the rob the bank mentality (an illegal move for only a short term gain)?
Because we didn't panic.
You shouldn't either.
Think methodically about what you do. Don't think about making a fortune in the next day, think about making a dollar in the next week...and building upon that.
People don't grow huge businesses in one week...we have never promised huge success in a week at Wealthy Affiliate.
